August 23rd-24th 2008 Family Event!!

Family Fun Days Rocked!

It certainly did! The Vision for Tomorrow Foundation's Family Fun Days event, held on Saturday and Sunday, August 23 and 24, raised more than $60,000 to help Those affected by low vision and was a great way to spend a summer weekend!

"We wanted a family-friendly event that would help us raise funds and tell our story-giving people information about albinism and aniridia is very important to us. We were delighted by the response and the number of children who participated." comments Board Member Susan Ballis.

Thirty-eight teams of children from first grade through high school participated in a 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament.  More than 600 people enjoyed the Family Carnival.  Both events were held at Joy of the Game Basketball in Deerfield.

Parents and siblings watched the tournament and participated in the Family Carnival, which featured a DJ and dancers from Bizar Entertainment, inflatables, basketball contests, a tattoo artist, a magician, and carnival games. More than 100 businesses and generous individuals contributed silent auction items, raffle prizes, carnival prizes and goody bag items.

"We are so touched by the community's support.   The event's success is greatly attributable to the amazing encouragement of our friends and family. The VFT volunteers contributed many hours, including many late nights and the whole weekend of the event.  We couldn't have done it without the volunteers and all that came out to support this great cause!" says Board Member Wendy Baum.
